At the request of members, I've created this forum to allow you to list books that you are willing to lend to others as well as the posting of books that you are seeking to borrow. Please read the Instructions, Conditions, and Disclaimers below. Please also suggest how I might improve any of the three by responding to this thread.

Instructions if you wish to lend a book

1. Start a new thread

2. Select the Prefix Lend

3. Enter the Title of the Book you are willing to Lend. Create one thread for every book.

4. In the first post contents list the details about the book you are willing to lend. Include the following:
a. Title, Author, Date Published, Publisher
b. Amount of time you are willing to lend the book for.
c. Price the borrower will pay for shipping.

5. The first person to ask to borrow the book has now reserved the right to check out the book.

6. Contact the prospective borrower by PM.

7. If you come to an agreement with the borrower then add a new post to the thread, which reads
Book Checked out by Username

8. You have the permissions in this forum to Open/Close your own threads. Close the thread after the book is checked out.

9. When the book is returned, re-open the thread and note that the book has been Checked back in. You may now choose to make the book available for lending within the same thread. Do not start a new thread but simply keep Checking Out and Checking In the book with the same thread. This will allow us to control the proliferation of threads and the confusion which may ensue.

Instructions if you wish to Borrow a book

1. Start a new thread

2. Select the thread prefix Borrow

3. Enter the title of the Book you wish to borrow.

4. In the first post contents list the book you are looking for. If you want a specific book please include any information you know (ISBN, Title, Author, Date Published, Etc)

5. Potential lenders will respond with the book title they have available to lend and will include:
a. Title, Author, Date Published, Publisher
b. Amount of time you are willing to lend the book for.
c. Price the borrower will pay for shipping.

6. Borrower and Lender will work out conditions for lending via PM.

7. Once conditions have been agreed upon, the Borrower will announce that he has checked the book out from a willing lender and will close the thread.

CONDITIONS
The only condition that I'm going to include here is that borrowers are expected to return items in the condition they found them and will pay the lender reasonable damages if any occur. Beyond this condition, the Lender may specify any additional restrictions more strict than this one provision.

DISCLAIMER
The PuritanBoard is simply making this exchange as a courtesy to its members and takes no responsibility for any fraud, damages, or any loss incurred by users who enter into agreements with one another via the Private Messaging system. If a user acts in bad faith during any lending transaction they may contact and Admin or Moderator and we may suspend membership on this board but we are not going to pursue any legal or Church disciplinary recourse on behalf of any lender or borrower.
