This topic may have been discussed before. I could not find the information I was looking for by searching though--so if it has, please forgive me and point me in the right direction.
My question deals with the issue of women voting in congregational meetings (to call a minister for example). I know some Presbyterian churches allow this while others practice "heads of households" voting. How far back does this distinction go? I have assumed it is a more modern debate? Do we know what the most historical practice/precedent is? I see the RCUS addressed the matter a few years ago, but it does not appear that they gave very much historical information.
