If we can get our heads around the fact that when we take up the Psalter we sing the same songs David sang, the same songs the apostles sang, and the same songs that Jesus sang, we can begin to comprehend the importance of psalmody. It unites us to the Church of all ages in a way that hymns cannot."

Great quote. The whole first section of that books gives such a great appreciation of the Psalter that I think every Christian should read.
