In the song To The Table" by Zach Williams the phrase is used in the third verse.
HE CAN SEE THE WEIGHT YOU CARRY
AND THE FEARS THAT HOLD YOUR HEART
BUT THROUGH THE CROSS YOU’VE BEEN FORGIVEN
YOU’RE ACCEPTED AS YOU ARE
Aren't we accepted because of the Cross and not as we are? I feel like those statements can go a couple directions.
And does this carry the same sentiment as Just As I Am?
JUST AS I AM WITHOUT ONE PLEA
BUT THAT THY BLOOD WAS SHED FOR ME
AND THAT THOU BIDD'ST ME COME TO THEE
O LAMB OF GOD I COME I COME
Here's another example of a modern song with this language.
COME NOW IS THE TIME TO WORSHIP
COME NOW IS THE TIME TO GIVE YOUR HEART
COME JUST AS YOU ARE TO WORSHIP
COME JUST AS YOU ARE BEFORE YOUR GOD
COME
Your thoughts would be appreciated! Thank you.
