I have the Neil Postman book "Teaching as a Conserving Activity" inscribed by Neil Postman, "To Gordon, Thanks for asking, Neil Postman"

Who is Gordon, he is obviously a fellow academic judging by the book review in between the pages, and a slip of paper from Kent State University School - a student evaluation form being used for scribbles. There are extensive notes at the back of the book expanding on under linings in the text.

Anyone a clue who Gordon is?

Thanks I will chase it up and let you know if I discover who the original inscription was to.

Well it's not T. David Gordon of "Why Johnny can't preach" and it's not Gordon Murray of Kent State University School. I am assuming that "Gordon" is a christian name - everyone else seems to assume it is a surname.

The mystery continues

"To Gordon, Thanks for asking, Neil Postman"

A google search found a man named "Gordon Dyke" mentioned several times in an article that included "Teaching as a Conserving Activity" and "Neil Postman" I did not find that they were necessarily related to one another.

This book is dedicated to the memory of Gordon
Dyke
, a teacher who spent more time listening
than lecturing. A scholarship fund connected
with NewDawn-Association.org pays for the
school fees of orphans in Kenya. If you would
