Major accident and funny story..

A man pulled out in front of me on the highway yesterday morning as I was headed to school.
We hit almost head-on, my car going into the ditch, and catching on fire about 5 minutes later. A good Samaritan helped me get most of my valuables out of the car before it went up in flames.

He claimed he didn't see me, which I believe. He was wearing a wristband from a bar/dancehall last night. He was arrested. Drunk driving, driving hung over, distracted driving of any kind is real, and can affect many people.

I pray for this man and feel for him. God gave me the grace to be able to walk away from the accident, with only major soreness and some back problems that will get better. God is better to me, and to us, than any of us deserve. Both pictures are of my vehicle.

As for the funny story, my middle son saw the pictures and heard the story and knew I was OK. So when he came to the house, his first question to me was "Were you able to save your Bahnsen CD's?" I had about 20-25 Greg Bahnsen CDs that I liked to listen to while driving. After he knew I was OK, and the car had burned up, he said that was his first thought, LOL! I had to tell him, alas, no they weren't saved.

Yes! Mine (I was the only passenger) deployed perfectly saving me major injuries, or worse. Also passenger side did not deploy, also working perfectly. I was only able to get out through the passenger door, so that airbag, if deployed, would have been a major hindrance to me getting out of the car.

Again, thanks be to the Lord who is better to me than I deserve.

I've read that the insurance company will usually total out the car if the airbags deploy. So they may not want to repair that one. It will probably show up on the CarFax if you try to sell it, so you might want to disclose 'Minor cosmetic damage. May need some mechanical work.'

In any event, glad there were no significant injuries. Did the other driver have insurance?

Yes, he had insurance, which is one of the first things I asked. Guess he's in the county jail now.
