So, I don't know if any of you do this, but I always have good prayer time when I shower, so I taped my most common prayer requests on the shower wall.

Showers Of Blessing, stuck in my head.

I remember that song from my early Assemblies of God days. I can hear it now. Sometimes I feel the same way about the "Mercy-drops" falling, But for the showers, we plead.

There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

There's lots more, but you get the point.

BTW - Mary and I were in the AG church for maybe a year until the pastor loaned me Spurgeon's - Lectures to My Students. What on earth was he thinking? It took me about two weeks with Spurgeon to make a Calvinist out of me. Then my wife discovered the Westminster Confession of Faith – Well that did it. We were on our way and never looked back.

My reaction was - long list, lots of water being wasted. Not good stewardship of resources.

Of course, we are both making assumptions as to how Ryan showers...

True story: after six decades of marriage, my retired, career-Marine father mentioned, a bit proudly, in a family gathering that he and my mother took "Navy showers," where the water was only running for a few minutes (to get wet initially, and then to rinse off). This is what he learned to do early in his service aboard a Med cruise in the 50's.

My mother quickly rebutted that notion - and, to my father's astonishment, said that she had, rather, always enjoyed long, hot showers. She wasn't stationed on a ship, after all!

So, one could conceivably take a Navy shower and pray - at length - in between turning on the water (though it might be a bit cold and uncomfortable to do so!).

My favorite prayer spot is the deck on the back of my house under the trees. It where I like to read my bible too.
