Hello,

I've been dealing with pain issues. Told a freind this week I had tried accupuncture and he was appalled that I was opening doorways to the devil and the occult.

Can anyone tell me of any possible dangers? He seemed okay with chiropracters and even massage therapists of the opposite sex for pain, but sat up straight and balked at accupuncture and also Tai-Chi. He said to adopt these practices was to syncretize and give creedance to the notion of bodily energies (like chi, perhaps)?

Any thoughts?

Spend your time and money elsewhere. As a nurse I would have hoped you knew better. :)

Ha ha.....the always-blunt Earl.

Thanks. When people are very sick or in pain they are willing to try things they would not normally try. I figured it was worth a try...if nerves go through pathways, then maybe the needles deaden the pain receptors or blocks the pathways.... seems to possibly make sense.

That's not the theory, though, at least not originally.

Jut don't have someone stick a needle in your eye.

Nerve blocks are real though lido would be the choice of agent.

I know people who have gotten great pain relief. It makes sense if you block the pain signals to the brain.

It would seem to me that you are not healing the underlying problem, just masking the pain. But I read somewhere that pain is terribly stressful for the body and just getting pain relief helps healing in itself.

Prayed for you and family. A tough providence.....

Trying to let the liver heal and rid the body of parasites, which seems to keep my labs weird and my pain up. Once those underlying reasons are resolved, I am sure the pain will decrease. Just gotta ride it out.

My medical doctor recently prescribed it for me. He believes the studies are showing success when one has several sessions as the effect is cumulative. I did try three visits and will do a couple more, yet not seeing great results.

The practitioner works for a major medical health care system and spent 3 years studying at the University of MN, a prestigious medical school. I found it fascinating and not the least spiritually inclined. I asked 3 friends who are pastors and knew of my concern and none objected.

Personally, I'm more pragmatic about it. Whether it's a placebo effect or just some mechanism we haven't discovered yet, if it still worked to bring actual relief then it's worth it.

It's only of the devil if you try it on me. My mom had it done and it decreased her pain significantly that day, but the pain came back the next day. Too expensive to have it done daily.

Isn’t there a kind of zapper that does the same thing but you can apply it yourself?

What kind of pain are you dealing with? I have been to chiropractors, acupuncture, physiotherapy, massage therapy, osteopathy...

I have a swollen liver, spleen, and gallbaldder and weird lab tests from chronic malaria. The weird internal issues cause referred pain (more like tension) in my shoulder and c-spine area. I cannot sleep so the pain increases and I have bad muscle aches all the time.

I have taken some pain pills over the last 3 months but I want to go natural.

If you have a credible Naturopath, and Osteopath in your area, I would try them. The naturopath understands organs and how nutrients and supplements work with them (long term and natural) and the osteopath, if they are worth their salt, can work externally, to see if some organs are out of place and try to put them back in their place, for their proper function. My email is [email protected]
Send me an email with your home town, I'll reach out to some of my contacts to see if they have any contacts there.
