Does anyone know where Augustine said, "Education is the food of youth, the delight of old age, the ornament of prosperity, the refuge and comfort of adversity, and the provocation to grace in the soul."

“Learning is an ornament in prosperity, a refuge in adversity, and a provision in old age.” ― Aristotle

Augustine is probably quoting Oscar Wilde.

This appears to be one of those quotes that people copy and paste from each other, and may be based on a writing of Augustine's but I can't find a source either.

I searched through my extensive digital collection of Augustin's works and came up with no matches or the same sentiment worded differently. By no means is my collection complete. It may be hiding somewhere.

The citation of Aristotle is a little more complex. You can find what is accredited to Aristotle in Diogenes Laërtius in his "The Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers." See Book 5.
C. D. Yonge translates it as, "It was a saying of his that education was an ornament in prosperity, and a refuge in adversity. And that those parents who gave their children a good education deserved more honour than those who merely beget them: for that the latter only enabled their children to live, but the former gave them the power of living well."
