What verse is he referring to when he says "turning away from God"? It would appear to be a reference to Galatians 5:4, but that isn't exactly the language of that verse.

I am afraid that I cannot remember, as it is so long since I read the source, and I do not have it immediately to hand right now. I will try to look it up again later in the week.
