Greetings, fellow pilgrims,

Maybe about a year or so ago, I asked one of the moderators if there was a way to extract all threads started and or contributed to by any member who so desired. The answer was a decisive NO!

Oh well, I mused; on to the next subject. But this morning, as I was thinking about some of the wonderfully insightful tomes of knowledge gathered here over the years, I was thinking again about how awesome that could be. I'll bet there are the makings of a small library of books and pamphlets that could come with this feature. Sure, like in all discussions, there is some shared ignorance aside the gold. I know I've shared my share of it. But think of the vast amount of knowledge deposited in this one place. Some of the better thinking in the Christian world has taken place here. Agreed?

I want to go on record to say that the idea so intrigued me that I decided I would gladly donate at least $1,000 to the software maker to implement such a feature. I think it could be of great use to our sad-old world.

Think about it a bit and tell me what your thoughts are on the subject.

Thanks,

Ed Walsh

Go to the Profile of a specific user (e.g. https://puritanboard.com/members/ed-walsh.9328/)

Click on the Find pull down and you'll find all the threads started by that user. There is also an option to see all content by that user.

You can send me $1K if you like.

It seems, who ever created this website did an excellent job, and I would love to have something similar one day for Puritan works. The search option is powerful; I tested it for "Presbyterian" and it gave me 17 pages of results; which were not just title specific, but returns within the text. This would allow you to use this website already, search keywords, phrases, or scripture; and create "books" or pamphlets out of the content (with the proper permissions of course) without any need, it seems for further enhancements.

I am serious though; I would love to get with the makers of this webpage in the future, once the EEBO-TCP Puritan text have been corrected, and pick their mind about creating an online Puritan Research Index with all the text; imagine having 1000's of Puritan text on a site (if possible,) looking up "mercy" and just researching all the Puritan instances. This site already gives you that same feature for Board discussions.
