I have started reading around a little on the Lord's Supper, and it seems I might have been "Zwinglian by default", but I am still a little confused...
Here are some questions:
1. What is the main difference between Zwingli and Calvin on this issue? What are the main biblical arguments for each, and especially Calvin?
2. What are the main differences between Calvin and Luther, and what are the arguments for each? Is Luther's view the same as the pope's view?
3. Do you interpret John 6 as speaking of the supper? If you do, why do you do so, and how do you avoid a false gospel with that exegesis?
4. I intend to study (read + study scripture references) the Westminster standards and three forms on this subject. Do any of those leave room for a Zwinglian and/or Lutheran view?
5. Did the Anabaptists, and do the mainstream evangelicals, take the Zwinglian view, or is the Zwinglian view higher than that?
6. What did our Lord mean by "this is my body"?
7. How do the different views engage with the old covenant types and shadows?
