...the Detroit Lions surpassed all predictions of their capacity for losing this year. They proved that no one in the NFL can even touch them for sheer consistency. I am so pleased with this team that they had a plan (or they appear to have had a plan) and they executed it beautifully.
They are having difficulty filling the vacancy even coaches underfire such as Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett have declined invitations to interview for the head coaching opening; people are actually dreading the prospect of being hired to coach the Lions!
There's no way they won't get a guy for the job. They probably won't get the best of the bunch, but there is no way they will not get a man for the job. It's an NFL head coaching job, people.

Me thinks perhaps you missed the sarcasm.
Regardless, it's a non-issue that Detroit will have a coach next year.

Really?
Oh, I don't think it's set in stone that the Lions will be able to get someone to take the job. They have a 51-year legacy of futility, a diva for an owner and the biggest deterrent of all: this is Detroit.
If this were Cleveland, I wouldn't have any doubts that they'd have people lining up to be interviewed for the job. But no one wants to come here. Literally.

If someone could forward this post to UGA's quarterback Matthew Stafford, I would appreciate it. He needs to come back to Georgia for his senior season and not enter the NFL draft early, where he'll wind up in Detroit.
Who are you trying to fool? The Lions are going to draft Crabtree!
