Palamalu was great!!!!!! that TD was sooo exciting!!!.
we aren't usually Steeler fans but we are having a Superbowl/Birthday party for my hubby and a friend of ours is coming who is from Pittsburg and is a HUGE steelers fan so I told him... For you, we'll all be steeler fans.
YEAHY~~~

anyword though on the guy who got hurt?

Why is he a traitor? It's not like he could help getting drafted by Pittsburgh.

I guess he could have pulled a John Elway-esque punkish stunt and refused to play for the team that drafted him...

He could have stayed in school for one more year to prevent being picked by the Steelers... ;)

Yes, I can sympathize. I thought that Matthew Stafford should have stayed in school one more year (and still do!) to keep him from going to Detroit. But then Mark Sanchez decided to declare and might have helped him avoid that debacle!

I married a Pittsburgh girl so I am required to watch Steeler games.
especially since my team is vacationing in some Hollywood pinkie rehab and I have no alternative

I am very impressed with the manly men of Pittsburgh.
Last night was like watching a bunch of rodeo bull riders clearing a bar.
And the Steelers showed me some of the best offensive line work by the I have ever seen.

Go Steelers!

If it couldn't be the Giants I'm glad it's the Steelers. Pittsburgh is a real football town...

Pittsburgh is a real football town...

Oh, and like Atlanta's not?!? Oh, that's right, it's not.

New York isn't a football city either - it's a baseball/Yankees town, as much as I don't like it.

Football is 2nd though - I've never seen New Yorkers so united (other than after 9/11) as they were after the Giants' Super Bowl win last year...

Well, NY has the Yankees and it has jobs.
Pittsburgh just has the Steelers. We are probably more united by last night's win than you guys were by that Superbowl win.

That is because that "Ben" is a traitor to the State of Ohio :soapbox:

Yeah, and if he would have waited to be picked up by either the mistake on the lake Browns or the Bungles, Big Ben would have made a big boo boo.

Good call!

Jessica, I thought you might be on cloud 8 (one more reserved for two weeks from now if a certain result happens).;)

This Sabbath is to be kept holy unto the Lord when men, after a due preparing of their hearts, and ordering of their common affairs beforehand, do not only observe an holy rest all the day from their own works, words, and thoughts about their worldly employments and recreations; but also are taken up the whole time in the public and private exercises of his worship, and in the duties of necessity and mercy. [WCF XXI:8]

Which is why I don't watch football on Sunday, but follow the highlights on Monday.

Go Cardinals! I hear Kurt Warner is a Christian unlike Roethlisberger and his sinful motorcycle riding.:p

Well, Big Ben mentioned God and the troops as he was thanking the crowd last night, so he's got all the American bases covered!

Which is why I wrote this from the start:
A recap for those who don't like to watch, but like to know:polamalu's INT return secures Steelers' Super Bowl berth.

Also, the game was on after sunset...if that helps anyone??

Sir respectfully it is quite tiresome that sabbatarians feel the need to hijack threads each and every time sports are discussed, if you disapprove of participating then I would prefer you refrained from participating as not every conscience is bound by your interpretation of the sabbath rest and I do not assert myself in sabbatarian threads decrying you as a legalist so I would appreciate a similar courtesy.

Sounds like he copied Kurt and then tried to one up him.:p

My wife tells me her Steeler fan friends on PB would be hurt if I expressed my true feelings about the game, so I will refrain. You folks enjoy.

I'm pretty sure she is thinking of me, and she's already told me about her picking the Cards:eek:
I don't mean to intrude, but as Head of Household, you musn't let your wife make such poor decisions!;)

Well, he's definitely said that he was a Christian before, but I obviously don't know his beliefs. I do think Warner and his wife are active Christians, from what I've read.
Troy Polamalu is Eastern Orthodox.

It figures, with that hippie hair cut and all. Man must think he's Sampson, no ability without his locks.

Speaking as a Browns who is by implication a Steelers hater:

GO CARDS! Warner would be much better suited for the ring.

You do drink the haterade, I side with the Cards too, not just because of their underdog status but because as a Cowboy fan I don't want pittsburgh to be the first to six rings.

One for the thumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See, I am a true Christian Steeler fan, I have an image of a Pittsburgh church in my avatar.
Searching for a "Holier than thou" emoticon ;) ;)

I enjoyed watching the Steelers beat the Ravens but has more to do with my dislike of Ray Lewis. I must admit that I'm rooting for the Football Cardinals (as they were called in St. Louis).

Yes, Warner is a Christian, of the modern evangelical type.
