It's championship weekend, and that will be the theme of this week's picks. Every one of these games has a BCS berth on the line.

I'm thinking of having a playoff for a final champ of this season. Only winners from previous weeks will have the opportunity to play in the playoff, so if you haven't won a week, this might give you extra incentive. I'm thinking of having 10 bowl games to pick (the 5 BCS games, plus 5 other major bowls). Anyone who has won twice will get an extra point. The winner will be the one who gets the most correct picks (plus any bonus points). The tie-breaker will be Georgia in the Papajohns.com bowl (just kidding; if they hadn't beaten Tech, that would have been a distinct possibility, though).

Here are this week's picks. Because the first game is on Thursday night, these need to be in by 6 pm (ET) on Thursday.

1) Oregon State at Oregon
2) Cincinnati at Pittsburgh
3) Florida v. Alabama
4) Texas v. Nebraska
5) Georgia Tech v. Clemson

Tie-breaker (Conference USA championship game -- pick winner and score): Houston at East Carolina

1) Oregon State (Oregon has the worse fans in all of college football, they deserve to lose). For the Rose Bowl!!!!!!!!!
2) Cincinnati
3) Florida
4) Texas
5) Georgia Tech

Houston-40, East Carolina-30

Worse than Clemson fans? :wow:

Clemson fans somehow believe they are in the national title mix every season (though it has been more than a decade, I believe, since they've even won 10 games in a season). I've also seen them get into screaming matches with their own players after predictably bad showings in bowl games.

I am a depressed Beaver at the moment. What will it take for us to get back to the Rose Bowl! Ugh. We haven't been since '65. I am starting to feel the pain that the Red Sox fans went through. :(

This isn't up there with the big guns, but I'm hoping for Rutgers to beat West Virginia. Greg Schiano has turned the Rutgers program around. This will be their fourth year in a row going to a bowl game. Unheard of.

2) Why not put all bowl games up, and we choose all, with tiebreaker being the BCS Championship

Actually, that's not a bad idea at all. The only problem is that it will take a while to tally through all those results. But I can make a spreadsheet or something with everyone's picks, and limit it to the winners from the season thus far. So I might just go with that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Marrow Man;

1) Oregon State at Oregon--Oregon
2) Cincinnati at Pittsburgh--Pitt
3) Florida v. Alabama--Florida--
4) Texas v. Nebraska--Texas

Bobbi, I won't be able to count the first game (Oregon v. Oregon St), as it was played last evening ...

That's okay..

Like I said I don't keep up with football..it was listed so I picked one..

I guess I should look and see who won..

Oh I understand. I was just chiming in that I thought Pitt was going to win also and early on I thought I was right, but fell short.

I typically don't watch football, but I did watch part of the Pitt/Cincy game..I'm curious why the coach didn't challenge the one play where the guy grabbed the face mask..it's like they gave up at that point..

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can challenge a facemask.

We had several people go 4-1 this week, but only one correctly picked East Carolina to win in the tie-breaker. Therefore, this week's winner is none other than fellow UGA fan Michael Turner.

Congrats, Michael, here is your prize: :judge:

Is that your first or second wig this season?
