Puritan Board Freshman
If you could bring back every player in their prime and they all played this season, who would be on the All Pro first team and second team? These are my first and second teams. I would like to see other opinions.

Point Guard: 1 Magic Johnson 2 Steve Nash
Shooting Guard:1 Michael Jordan 2 Kobe Bryant
Small Forward: 1 LeBron James 2 Larry Bird
Power Forward: 1 Kevin Garnett 2 Karl Malone
Center: 1 Shaquille O'Neil 2 Kareem Jabbar

Point Guard: 1 Magic Johnson 2 Oscar Robertson
Shooting Guard:1 Michael Jordan 2 Jerry West
Small Forward: 1 Larry Bird 2 John Havlicek
Power Forward: 1 Tim Duncan 2 Karl Malone
Center: 1 Bill Russell 2 Kareem Jabbar

I didn't realize there were positions in basketball. lol. I know it is so typical, but Michael Jordan. When I was a young kid he was such a hero to me and pretty much the only reason I liked basketball. Once he left the Bulls I completely lost interest in the sport, which would explain my first sentence. Some of the shots he pulled off were just beautiful.

I'm such a sucker for these sorts of lists... :)

PG: Magic, Oscar
SG: Jordan, Kobe
SF: Bird, Lebron
PF: Duncan, Malone
C: Kareem, Wilt

Notes: It's tough putting Lebron in there but I just think he's going to end up there regardless. Duncan is boring to watch but the man is as solid as good as they come so I had to squeeze him in at PF (even though he plays a lot of C). It was also very tough leaving Hakeem out. Such a well-rounded player! And growing up an LSU fan I twitch a little in my left eye not seeing Shaq on the list but I just don't think he makes it...

 We must be more or less of the same age. You watched Space Jam, didn't you? I was a young kid too when it was released. :)

Most underrated players list all-time:

PG: Pistol Pete Maravich...perhaps the greatest ball handler of all time.
SG: Adrian Dantley...scored +30 ppg for four consecutive seasons and most folks today don't even have a clue who he is.
SF: Chris Mullin/Mitch Richmond...can't pick between these two Warriors. Both had incredible shots. Richmond was maybe the most underrated defensive player.
PF: Dennis Rodman...yeah I supremely dislike the guy but 7 consecutive rebounding titles and 5 championships speaks for itself.
C: Hakeem...I only put him here because he never quite makes the top all time list, but he was arguably the most well rounded center the game has seen.

And just for fun, my most overrated list:

PG: Allen Iverson, forget the individual stats--he has made EVERY team he has been on worse.
SG: Vince Carter, but he's pretty good when no one is guarding him!
SF: Tracy Mcgrady, yeah he plays SG too but I needed both him and Vince on the list (they're related). Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe T-Mac has ever won a playoff series.
PF: Sir Charles, bark was/is bigger than his bite
C: Bill Laimbeer, just a dirty player

I'm just finishing Bill Simmons 700-page book on the entire history of the NBA, complete with a ranking of the best 96 players ever. Still... I just can't appreciate guys that I haven't seen play - so I'm gonna have to rank only players where I have watched a significant portion of their carreer.

Point Guard: 1 Magic Johnson 2 Isiah Thomas
Shooting Guard:1 Michael Jordan 2 Kobe Bryant
Small Forward: 1 LeBron James 2 Larry Bird
Power Forward: 1 Tim Duncan 2 Kevin Garnett
Center: 1 Shaquille O'Neil 2 ??????

Haha, yeah! I really liked that movie back in the day, especially because of Jordan in it.
