Puritan Board Senior
Greetings PB brethren,

I stumbled across Joel Beeke's résumé while searching for a thesis on Richard Baxter.

I knew he'd written a lot, but...somehow the word "wow" seems woefully inadequate.

(I removed the link as it had personal info.)

I don't know who this is but his book list looks amazing I mean the ones he's authored!!

Thank you I will check out this website and I will also post it to a Facebook page that I'm moderate that is for reformed churches and missions and I've been posting some schools when I bump into them

It's an excellent seminary. We've got several PRTS folks here on the PB. Even though I'm a Baptist, I was admitted to one of their ThM programs (maybe they took pity on me! Ha ha!) Robust academics + faithful Reformed theology + Puritan experientialism = a terrific school. Definitely share it with your friends!

I find it interesting that this document (apparently) contains his home phone number as well as the personal email addresses of his references... Either they aren't too concerned with privacy, or they didn't really intend for this to be publicly viewable.

How funny I'm also technically Reformed Baptist but in the last decade I've been going to Presbyterian churches either PCA or OPC because honestly a lot of Reformed Baptist churches are still very legalistic which is quite an anomaly...!! Most if not all Presbyterians will gladly welcome you into their school or church I would think because we agree on 95% of everything else :)

A lot of CV's I've seen enumerate speaking engagements. I'm guessing that section got too long.

I found how many times he's preached odd. I'd find it equally strange if my pastor put how many Christian education classes he's taught on Sunday evenings.

Well, his resume isn't really 52 pages long. He has his publications lists broken down in a couple of different ways, which takes up more room. Still, he's been a busy guy.

Not that my experience even begins to compare with his, but I've preached in 11 different states to date. That was reflected on my résumé at one point while searching for a pastorate, because (for some unclear reason) it had been a fairly important question to several search teams who had contacted me at that time.

I have absolutely no clue how many times I've preached or classes I've taught. It certainly sounds impressive, though. And come to think of it, totaling it up is not without historical precedent. Every Spurgeon biography I've read makes some attempt to total his sermons, books, newsletters/articles, correspondence, and the like.

Just my $0.02...

Dr. Beeke is detail oriented. Did anyone confirm whether this should be floating around with the phones etc.?

There are some interesting items in this CV, for lack of a better term. The Who's Who section is noteworthy - academics typically stay away from that stuff.

I'm not sure why it's a problem to link to it. It's directly available from Beeke's page in the staff section of PRTS. Seems pretty public to me.

Someone raised the issue that it has seeming private information. I asked about this twice for follow up and the thread author decided to remove it I assume out of caution because no one had an answer to the concern. The other I removed accordingly as you can see.
