1 Peter 3:18 states, "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;"

What is meant by "in the spirit"?

1 Peter 3:18 states, "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;"

What is meant by "in the spirit"?

"And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will aslo give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." Romans 8:10-11

In other words,'s, Christ died as a Man in a flesh body, but His Spirit did not die. In fact, it was His Divine and powerful Holy Spirit that raised His body from death.

Due to this event, there is basis for promise of resurrection for the children of God, according to the same power of the same Holy Spirit of God.
