Week 3 ends with Henry Hall and I tying with a total of 10 correct picks - his pick of the score for the IA-ISU tiebreaker game yielded a closer result, and so congratulations to our newest "regular"! (NB: an earlier version of this result post gave the wrong winner due to a mis-entry on my part. Sorry!)

Lots of people in the hunt right up to the end, which is a great thing - A number of games went squarely against the vote of the majority - Wake Forest over UNC, BYU over USC, Air Force over Colorado, the chief examples. Lots of nailbiters, which is always fun!

So, here's this week's scoreboard:

10: Henry Hall :flamingscot:
10: toddpedlar
9: Backwoods Presbyterian
9: Edm
8: Green Baggins
7: Edward
6: RJ Spencer
6: earl40
6: Sola Scriptura

and now that we are three weeks in and have three individual winners, I am announcing the Bowl Bash format for this year.

There are two changes relative to the general practice we have formerly used (in which games get more valuable as the weeks advance, so that the final games impact the overall result in a very significant way)

1) All games are equally weighted. This INCLUDES the championship game, which, depending on how you pick the semifinals, may not work out for you - but just like a March Madness bracket, you need to fill out all game winners at the start. The only change this represents from the past is the weighting.

2) There is a bonus for wins during the season. In order to incentivize continued participation by all, weekly winners and non-winners alike, every "extra win" (above the minimum of one) gives you a one point bonus. So let's say group members A through H win at least once during the regular season. If A wins a total of four weeks, and B and C each win two weeks, and D wins three (and all others E,F,G,H win once), then when the scoring starts for the Bowl Bash, A will already have 3 points on his or her scorecard, B and C one point, and D two points.

So far I have been very consistent about being the first loser in the first 3 weeks....
