The wife and I ate breakfast out this morning at Ft. Hayes, a tourist spot just a couple of miles down the road from us.
Definitely "cowboy" (or "saddle-blanket"...) variety 'cakes rather than the light-n'-fluffy kind, but still pretty good, and the sausage was actually plump and quite tasty...

Young kids working for the summer at the tourist spot - brought back some good memories...

They also have a Chuckwagon Cowboy Supper and Singing Show in the evenings, which we'll probably check out later this summer.

Ft. Hayes is mainly a campground and food place, but they also moved and set up some of the buildings from the old movie set of Kevin Costner's Dances with Wolves

Sure, it's all a bit hokey, but the older I get the more I appreciate that over the new, crazy (insane, really), and so-called sophisticated 'stuff you come across nowadays...
