Puritan Board Freshman
In Edersheim's "The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah", it makes mention in the short bio of the author, that after being ordained and serving as a Presbyterian minister in Scotland, he was ordained by the Church of England, later in life. However it doesn't give any reason for this change. Anyone out there know why?

Thanks in advance for the help

Thanks. I had read that also in Wikipedia, but I was wondering if he had changed on some of his beliefs that would have caused him to join the CoE.
It may be that his personal convictions would have allowed him to operate in either context. I know of a man who was originally ordained in the FCC, and operated within the bounds of Scottih Presbyterian practice while he was in Scotland, but didn't make any qualms about transferring to a denomination that celebrates man-mde holidays and uses an organ when he moved to the US.
