Puritan Board Freshman
Greetings, puritanboard brothers and sisters!

I was wondering if someone could help me understand Amillennial Idealism and Postmillennial Preterism, via comparing and contrasting. What are the relevant texts and how does each view interpret them? What about dating issues concerning the book of Revelation? What evidence is there that the book was written before/after AD 70? I lean towards Amillennial Idealism, though I confess that I am quite new to the subject.

Hey Brian, I believe there's a new "four views" book out that compares and contrasts these systems. You can probably find the title at equip.org

Regarding the Dating of the Revelation there is a book of the name by Dr. Kenneth Gentry. See also:

I noticed that you're in Flagstaff and while Phoenix isn't exactly around the corner, I wanted to tell you that you should check out James White's church there (http://aomin.org/James.html | http://www.prbc.org). He's an awesome Reformed Baptist apologist.

Welcome aboard from a fellow newbie. Grace and Peace.

Kenneth Gentry's book Before Jerusalem Fell is one of the best I have read for supporting the Pre-AD70 writing of the book of Revelation. It provides many internal and external proofs. I recommend it highly.

What about Amillennial Preterism and Postmillennial Idealism? Those are also possible combinations. I consider myself, for example, to be an amillennial preterist.
