You know, it's interesting how humor has changed over the decades...

It used to be funny to watch normal people act like mindless idiots on TV. Think of The Three Stooges or Abbott and Costello. Now, funny is actual mindless idiots on TV just being themselves.

It used to be just good comedy to watch unbelievable scenarios unfold on TV, knowing they could never happen. Think of the Darling family on The Andy Griffith Show attempting to marry off their infant granddaughter to a ten-year-old-boy named Opie. Now, comedy is watching actually unbelievable scenarios unfold before our eyes, but in real life, actually happening.

It used to be humorous to read satire, to watch the tomfoolery of morons be dismantled in the newspaper through poignant, but still fantastical, mockery. Now, satire is the truest thing we consume.

This is the world we live in. May the Lord preserve us.
