Just an other observation about headcoverings, no point I just thought I would share this.
I got our new copy of our denominational magazine (ARP) this weekend and it had a story about the Synod of Pakistan's centennial. Anyway point is in all of the photos of ARP lady missionaries and congregants they were wearing what the captions called "traditional Pakistani dress..." which as you may have guessed included head coverings.
To me they looked like the type of scarves I see moslem women with but I don't know if they are the same.

BTW the ARP began it's mission to Pakistan in 1906 amd the Synod of Pakistan now has 20-30,000 members. (the article didn't give figures so I am going from memory) The 2 main celebration/praise services were held in 2 different cities and drew 5,000 worshippers to each. The synod runs orphanages, hospitals and seminaries, and did have a thriving school system until it was nationalised in 1972.
