I've heard a lot of good things about them and, since I have some money left on a Best Buy gift card, was thinking about picking up one of their albums. Any fans have recommendations for which one to get?
Any of their discs are great; the first, _Nickel Creek_ and _This Side_ are folkier and _Why Should the Fire Die?_ is a bit edgier. But they're all in the folk/progressive country mold. And they're family friendly.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of their CDs. Their stuff is unbelievably good instrumentally and vocally.
I heard their DVD is good too but some of their videos bug me so I prefer the audio alone.
Crazy, I was listening to "When In Rome" when I saw this thread. I would say go with the first in the catalog, their self-titled. The next one is a bit more poppy but still with a great bluegrass bent on it. However, Why Should the Fire Die, to me, is a departure from the classic NC sound, but still very good.
