Greetings,
I usually use the Bible app for my Scripture reading. It is a red-letter edition of the ESV. I've noticed that in Luke 11:4, the words in black below are, well, black, indicating that they are not words spoken by Jesus.
Someone will probably say "that's the trouble with red-letter editions." I like red-letter editions. Not because I think the words of Jesus are more important, but it helps me locate texts I'm looking for.
Is this a mistake? Or, do the translators think Luke added these words?
Luke 11:3-4 ESV
Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”
