Abbey Road was my first Beatles record. I especially like...

:sing:
Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun, and I say
it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun, and I say
it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun, and I say
it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun, and I say
it's all right

Here comes the sun,
Here comes the sun, and I say
it's all right
it's all right

i am a bit of a rarity with regard to the beatles...the earlier the better as a general rule!!!! the early pop stuff was fantastic....in particular, i enjoy the following:she loves you
i wanna hold your hand
do you wanna know a secret?
with regard to the late(r) stuff....don't let me down, something (arguably the best guitar solo ever!)...i always favored mccartney over lennon; even the poppy 80's stuff like: no more lonely nights, my brave face

i got to see mccartney at the liberty bowl here in memphis in 93 and he had one of the best bands i have ever seen assembled w him...
hamish stuart( average white band?)
robbie mcintosh( pretenders)
blair cunningham (pretenders)
great stuff....do we dare start a "best guitar solo" thread??????
if you would like to, go ahead
:worms::lol:
i would submit that "Pet Sounds" by the beach boys is superior to anything the Beatles ever did.......i welcome all verbal attacks!!!

Anyone else a fan of Bad Finger? They were first Beatles Apple protege, I believe.

George Harrison produced "Day After Day" and played guitar on that song.

Today is Paul's birthday (June 18, 1942).

They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you :sing:

They sounded a lot like the Beatles in some respect.

All except one or two on this album

I've been listening to Abbey Road most frequently in recent times. My favourite from that album is probably...."Golden slumbers"

Wow, you guys like the Beatles? Here I considered myself to be one of the more liberal posters on this board, and now I feel like an old grandpa. Gosh darn punk kids with their hippie rock music!!

I like.

Hey Jude
Penny Lane
We Can Work It Out
Yesterday
While My Guitar Gently Weeps

Live and Let Die
Band on the Run

I am a Stone's Fan

The Beatles were simply incredible. My favorite cousin Danny and I used to listen to them in our teens. Danny's folks (my Aunt Betty and Uncle LeRoy), who were die-hard dispensational "r(f)ight-wing" Fundatmental Bible Baptists eventually learned about this. There response was "Oh no Danny, NOT THE BEATLES - that's devil music, it's got that Afro beat in it". Needly to say, we got no small amount of laughter out of this.:p

Carl H. Stevens (see www.carlstevens.org for the lowdown on this dude), the self-exalted head of the fundatmental-dispensational ministry that I left just over a year ago, used to make all kinds of nasty remarks about the Beatles and the "culture of rebellion they created".

Personally, I love just about everything the Beatles did. My especial favorites are:

Hey Jude
The Long and Winding Road
Get Back
Revolution

I would love for someone to post "A Reformed Justication of why the Beatles Music is Cool and the Fundamentalist's viewpoint on them is not Scriptural". Hey in our culture this could be PhD material.

dear prudence
two of us
across the universe
good morning good morning
a day in the life
i'm only sleeping
here comes the sun
run for your life
i've just seen a face
i'm so tired
don't pass me by
cry baby cry
tell me what you see

yes i AM a loser...

If the Beatles had stayed together, they would have sounded like...

Electric Light Orchestra.

i am a huge fan if "Let it be" and "Eleanor Rigby" mostly due to the Cello solo that is coming from a cellist.

I am not sure if I am a fan of anyone one song but i will listen to them and enjoy them. But that is how i am with most music. As long as it is pleasing to listen to, I will listen to it regardless of the artist.

Here Comes the Sun
Penny Lane
Eight Days A Week
I'll Be Back
Yes It Is (obscure title - from c. spring '65)

Jay
