Behold the Lamb!

Kyle Stratford

Did Baptist John,
Behold the Ghost, descending like a dove,
Who fell upon,
The One He chose, to demonstrate His love.

Behold the Lamb!
He’s beautiful, in all He ever did;
And understand,
His sacrifice, for you and for your sins.

Then evermore,
Did John proclaim, the witness of His truth,
And did implore,
They follow Him, whose shoes he could not loose.

Behold the Lamb!
His majesty, exceeds the sum of kings,
Of ev’ry land,
In ev’ry place, in ev’ry holt and heath.

Another John,
Another friend, of Jesus our high priest,
Did glance upon,
His inner face, encompassed by a sheet.

Behold the Word!
He’s wonderful, in all He ever was,
Whom we have heard,
Have seen and felt, descended from above.

Then John received,
The final page, disclosed from God on high,
And he believed,
What he had seen, concerning what draws nigh.

Behold the Son!
He’s glorious, in all that He will be,
What He has won,
On our behalf: eternal victory!

Adore the Lamb!
His radiance, all language cannot hold;
Yet when we stand,
Amidst His grace, this glory will be shown.
