Are Benny Hinn, Rodney Brown and the faith movement : (1) christians with a serieus error or are they (2) ungodly heretics ?

both

Benny Hinn, and virtually all these men in the word of faith movement[ all I have heard} have serious error and are ungodly heretics. Do a google search on the word of faith movement and you will see many of their false ideas.
the book of Jude has many verses describing these type of charlitans.

Every red flag I have goes up when I see Hinn. But in my previous church they quoted his books as often as they quoted the Bible.
His failure to cast out the demons in his hair is enough of a warning to me.

False teachers who mislead will be judged more harshly than those who they mislead.

There are many sweet and simple people/victims grasping for a straw anywhere who hear these name it claim it messages and get hope. It is a trap.

2 Peter 2:1

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

Having come from where Hinn was based originally in Orlando Fl I can say I have heard some stories. I went to college with a couple of former body guards of his. The stors I heard from them confirmed the red flags we have all had.

I think there is a special place in hell for those who use our precious Savior for greedy gain.

I would like to think so and I totally agree with your sentiment. But theologically speaking and this is food for another thread, I believe that hell is as bad as possible without compartmentations. In other words, I think Dante's inferno idea that some parts of hell are worse than others is wrong. Some people believe the idea of different levels of hell and different levels of heaven, I'm not so sure I believe that. I guess I'll start a thread on it another day, unless someone else knows more about it they can start the thread.

In my humble opinion, Benny Hinn and all of his ilk are first order heretics. They don't preach the glory of God. They preach the sovereignty of man. In the Word of Faith movement man tells God what to do, not the other way round.

In addition to being a heretic I would go along with what Andy Griffith said on his TV program a number of times about some of the characters....HE'S A NUT!!!! and a dangerous one at that.

My biggest problem with Hinn is his statement that puny wicked man is right up there with our Infinitely Worthy and Excellent Jesus.
Hinn: “Don’t tell me you have Jesus. You are everthing He was and everything He is and ever shall be”(Our Position in Christ #2–The Word Made Flesh, 1991).
Jonathan Edwards disagrees.
Edwards: "Christ, as he is God, is infinitely great and high above all. He is higher than the kings of the earth; for he is King of kings, and Lord of lords. He is higher than the heavens, and higher than the highest angels of heaven. So great is he, that all men, all kings and princes, are as worms of the dust before him; all nations are as a drop in the bucket, and the light dust of the balance; yea, and angels themselves are as nothing before him. He is so high, that he is infinitely above any need of us; above our reach, that we cannot be profitable to him; and above our conceptions, that we cannot comprehend him." (The Excellency of Christ).

I for one HOPE that he's "just" in error... but I THINK that he's a heretic for whom the fires of hell are being stoked.

I take it you're not talking about 'special' in terms of extra flowers and less of a brimstone aroma, right?

I'd have to agree. I don't think Dante's model is accurate, but Benny "Servetus" Hinn's abuse of our Saviour's name does seem to warrant some time in the 'extra crispy' room, if there is one.

I have especially enjoyed tmckinney's response! This kept the matter in the fore & fuelled us all with a quote directly from the ‘horses mouth'!

I have attended one of Hinn’s meetings & also one of Rodney Howard Brown's in that.

I come from a very flaky start in my pilgrimage heavenward & so have often questioned & re-questioned my self in this whole matter as to if I'm just being reactionary & so a 'hectic reformed dude' now or if I'm truly convinced as to Hinn's, Copeland's, Hagen’s, & the rest of their companions' spirituality or rather lack thereof.

I have come to be convinced as to their lack of the truth at all on the following grounds:

Besides the horror stories & the radically stupid statements on the 'Trinity' etc. (if you will forgive me saying 'besides' this, this is no little matter!) The ‘gospel’ message they preach, at least as far as I have heard personally, is almost identical to yours & mine!

Let me explain. They preach man's need of salvation & that by the grace of God alone in Christ. They preach 'repent or perish'! They say, unashamedly so, that Christ is the only way to the Father...to bad Joel Osteen, Clark Pinnock, Billy Graeme etc. etc. They preach heaven & hell. Their 'Ladder' is almost identical to ours! The great difference is in this...they hold it up to a different building! We are offering a 'red BMW' (if you'll forgive) they are offering a 'blue Mercedes'! We both say the way to receive what we offer is by such & such, but the great difference is in the destination!

This is why all their other trash oozes to the surface. They have not the Spirit of the Living God within their souls!

They are leading people, with 'Jesus words' to Satan’s (coven) Church!

This I’m sure of!

God bless
Glen Thompson

PS: Let's weep for these wild & foolish men & pray for the Lord to save them & grant them repentance & faith! Let us, of all people, if we are reformed at all, remember that they can do no other than that which is native to themselves. Let us further never speak lightly about God's terrible hell ever again!

Benny Hinn is both in serious error and he is a heretic. The TBNites have been warned over and over again, they are bordering on being incorrigible reprobates.

Glen:

With all due respect, I do not know what Gospel messgae you have been hearing, but the WFM (world faith movement) is nothing like the one I hear or believe. They say the same words, but the meaning is completely different. See, this is the example of counterfeit. I know of one who works as a counterfeit specialist for the FBI, do you know how they teach them to recognize a fake? By studying the true dollar. And that is what we must do. See, Hinn and company have lincoln on the twenty most of the time, yet people can be deceived when the see washington on the one, but then dont notice the back says "Not for currency"

Hey there brethren,

Nicholas, (Amazing Grace) please forgive me for being unclear. What I intended to say was exactly what you said. They sound like the real thing to an undiscerning hearer & so seem to be preaching the gospel but all the while 'another gospel'!

Or as you worded it; "They say the same words, but the meaning is completely different."

Why I took this approach was simply to underscore the subtlety of these serpents. They say Christian word's but lead people to a different 'religion'! E.g. “Repent of your sins & trust in the finished work of Christ alone for your salvation...you cannot save yourself...it is purely by faith in Him” etc. etc. all sounds relatively decent so far. This invitation however is to another religion! They have (what at first appears to be) the right ‘ladder’, but it leads to a different building! They really are saying, “Stop the low life of failure & illness & come to heaven on earth (over-realized eschatology) where you will walk in health & happiness 24/7! Poverty will be a thing of the past! So come to Jesus & that by faith alone”...& that to somewhere entirely different to the true faith!

Paul’s indictment in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 expresses their type well. They are ‘ear ticklers’ who preach to the ‘unrestrained passions’ of men! There is no real faith or repentance in their preaching at all & they are making converts twice deserving of hell!

I don't ‘marinade’ in TBN, it is as flaky as dandruff! But I speak from being within this cultic trash for about a year & a half & only attending one of Hinn's meetings (viewing a few more on video) & tons of Hagen & Copeland etc.

They are not Christian at all...not by a long shot...& their gospel is 100% different, though ever so subtly.

This is my point. I don’t know of a person who hates their ministry more than I do! They are raping the Name of my God & unless they repent they will burn in hell forever!

I hope this clears things up
Glen
