Tim Challies has culled some of the most popular books from a number of lists in 2024 - https://www.challies.com/resources/the-collected-best-books-of-2024/

I had made my own list from six (broadly evangelical and reformed) websites, here are the books that appear the most frequently;
  • 5 mentions
    • Kevin DeYoung - Daily Doctrine
  • 4 mentions
    • Harrison Perkins - Reformed Covenant Theology
    • Matthew Barrett (editor) - On Classical Trinitarianism
  • 3 mentions
    • Kevin J. Vanhoozer - Mere Christian Hermeneutics
  • 2 mentions
    • Coleman Ford and Shawn Wilhite - Ancient Wisdom for the Care of Souls
    • Jason DeRouchie - Delighting in the Old Testament
    • Michael Morales - Numbers 1-19
    • Carl Trueman - To Change All Worlds: Critical Theory from Marx to Marcuse
    • David and Jonathan Gibson (editors) - Ruined Sinners to Reclaim
    • Stephen O. Presley - Cultural Sanctification

my sources:
  • Credo Magazine
  • Clearly Reformed (Kevin DeYoung)
  • TGC
  • For the Church (Midwestern Seminary)
  • Keith Mathison
  • Todd Pruitt (Reformation21)

Personally I plan to read Harrison Perkins on covenant theology and would like Morales' commentary on Numbers (second volume is also now out).

What do you think? Any titles that are noteworthy this year or that you plan to read?

I didn't read many of this year's books. But of the handful I read, the first (introductory) volume of Christopher Ash's four-volume commentary on the Psalms has been my favorite.

Was given a copy of Ancient Wisdom for the Care of Souls, published by Crossway. I’m about halfway through and it’s been overall positive.

Only other book I’m reading which was published this year is Schreiner on Galatians in the New Testament Theology series, which is pretty decent.

Nothing to write home about.

Books not published this year… that’s a different story.

The books I enjoyed most this year were the sermons of Jonathan Edwards, J. W. Alexander's Thoughts on Preaching, Petrus Van Mastricht, and Piscator's commentaries on Jeremiah and Hebrews.

I just took Dr. Morales's course on Torah and it was fantastic. His 2016 book on Leviticus is possibly the best I read this year.

I grabbed Ken Gentry's Revelation commentary as soon as it came out earlier this year but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I read about 42 books this year, but I don't think any of them were actually published in 2024.
