Encouragement to work hard when exegeting the Scriptures:
The more we penetrate into this treasury, the more shall we be enabled to bring out of it things new and old. If we content ourselves with an easy and superficial study of it, we shall of course be able to produce nothing but what is familiar to all. But if we penetrate below the surface, if we dig in the Bible as for hidden treasure, we shall never cease to find what is fresh and interesting.
