Hi,

J. c ryle expository thoughts on the
gospels are available. similarly on epistle to Romans is there any book
available. verse by verse explanation. we translated
John's Gospel. For the next translation project
i am thinking about Book of romans. suggest the best one.

I do not find Martin Luther's line by line commentary within his book to be useful, but he wrote an excellent introduction in his book which summarizes the entire book of Romans. I have read this several times.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones recommended Haldine's Commentary, and Charles Hodge's commentaries on Romans. I would agree - they are both in the same great theological tradition as JC Ryle.

I have Edward Elton on Romans 7 , 8 and 9 printed in the 1650's.
Very good description of the inner life of a christian man.
