Yes, been there. In hindsight, you realise it was no sacrifice at all (especially in view of the good that was done), but at the time, it can seem pretty pitiful! The times that do sorta stink are when you cannot see the good that has been done afterwards, you just have to know that it was used for good somewhere at some point down the road.
 
Yes, I can relate to that quote in a situation I am in at the moment. The "best" is often painful when we are in the depths of despair. However, we learn the valuable lesson of waiting upon the Lord during those times, knowing that He is sovereign over all matters and loves His children.
