Another bit of trivia: Eric Liddell spent many years in Tianjin and is actually buried here. Have'nt seen his grave before, but I've heard it is here somewhere...

He is interred in the Mausoleum of Martyrs in Shijiazhuang, China.

In 1991, more than 40 years after he died and a decade after his life was immortalised on celluloid, a small headstone was unveiled at Liddell's previously unmarked grave in China's Tientsin province. An appropriate text, just a few simple words taken from Isaiah, formed the inscription: "They shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary."

There is a wikipedia article that I can't get to that lists him as buried in Tianjin. However, your claims do seem more reasonable. In the midst of a war, in an internment camp, he dies. They are then going to move the body to the next province? It doesn't make sense. But I've heard from more than one person that his grave was here in Tianjin. I'll ask around and try to go find it, then post a picture if I do.

Sounds good! :handshake:
