I am just after reading @Charles Johnson's useful article Postmillennialism and the Second Helvetic Confession. I have long suspected that this confession's condemnation of "Jewish dreams" was aimed at premillennialism, not postmillennialism. And I recall seeing some things in Henry Bullinger's writings that support this interpretation. Charles offers evidence in support of this thesis, which is too strong to ignore. The most objective conclusion that one may reach is that the sectarian amillennialists who appeal to the Second Helvetic Confession to cast postmillennialism outside of the Reformed Pale are clutching at straws.
N.B. I dissent from the view that the Westminster Larger Catechism officially teaches postmillennialism.
