I think I was in college when this story broke. i never really followed it closely but from what I recalled I always thought Richard Jewell was responsible....

Highly Recommended!

I was at the Olympic games the day the bomb went off. And as a working journalist at the time, I followed the subsequent investigation with much interest. In the haste to identify both heroes and villains (because heroes and villains always help a story), Mr. Jewell got jerked around in regrettable ways.

Both Jewell and the reporter that targeted him died at surprisingly young ages.

(Edited to remove excessive use of 'both')

Eastwood turns 90 this Sunday (May 31, 2020). He is now, doubtless, Hollywood's oldest working actor and director.

Interesting fact: I went to the college whose president (W. Ray Cleere) Jewell sued for defamation subsequent to this. In fact, I knew Cleere personally (he's since died) and have spent a small amount of time in his house on campus when I was a student.

I can only imagine Jewell’s fate I’d this would have happened today. The internet to the general public was in infancy back then.
