This week Includes Friday Games

Brief summary of the rules:
Every PBer in good standing can participate. You don’t have to be an American or even know the rules of college football to compete.
Pick the team you think can win – it’s a head to head competition, so you don’t have to worry about point spreads.

For the tiebreaker, you also have to pick the final score as well as the winner.

All picks have to be in before the kickoff of the first game of the week.

All results subject to Audit.

Again, more than 15 games this week to accommodate the WuFlu and the chicken outs (talking about you , FSU).

Friday:

#17 Iowa State @ # 22 Texas
Central Michigan @ Eastern Michigan
Stanford @ Cal (The Big Game) (watch for the Tuba player)
#11 Oregon @ Oregon State (The Civil War)
Washington @ Washington State (The Apple Cup)
San Diego State @ Fresno State

Saturday:

Texas Tech @ OK State
Northwestern @ Michigan State
Utah @ Arizona State
Virginia @ Florida State

Ball State @ Toledo
Georgia Southern @ Georgia State
#24 Louisiana @ UL Monroe
North Texas @ UTSA
Mississippi State @ Ole Miss (Egg Bowl)
LSU @ #5 TAMU
Georgia @ South Carolina
Tennessee @ Vandy

And the Tiebreaker – Pick the Winner and the Final Score

Auburn @ Alabama (The Iron Bowl)

It wasn't showing on Sunday last week when I put the list together so I could post it earlier than usual.

Bad Mormons (and both the Utah grads and BYU folks I've known agree that the good Mormons go to BYU, and the bad ones to Utah) disqualified for the week.

Tossed. Maybe if we hadn't had Friday games this week, but with most folks jumping in early, and folks perhaps already traveling, I'm not going to scramble things any more than I have to. Looks like we are still at 15 games for the week, with three already scratched and one chopped for violation of the rules.

Down goes Virginia! Down goes Virginia! COVID casualty #97
Well, it worked to keep FSU from a big loss to Clemson. I guess they went back to the well again.

Same playbook - let the other team get to town, then cancel the game. Probably not a bad strategy for a 2-6 team whose biggest win was over Jacksonville State (the pride of Jacksonville, Alabama).

Duke is also 2-6 (with their big win over Charlotte) so maybe we'll see FSU on the field next week.

Never mind - FSU is making it three in a row, as it ducks a matchup with Duke. Apparantly the risk of a loss to a 2-6 team is as bad as the risk of a blowout to a top caliber team. At least they surrendered early this week.

Now, for the preliminary results:

11 Ben (2nd tiebreaker) :flamingscot: :flamingscot: :flamingscot:
11 Jean :flamingscot::flamingscot:
09 Todd :flamingscot::flamingscot::flamingscot:
08 EdM :flamingscot:
08 Lane :flamingscot:
07 Edward :flamingscot:
05 Earl:flamingscot:

One more full week of action.

I was thinking I didn't meet the deadline this week?
I used the time stamp on your post and just discarded the Texas game, which you, like me, had picked incorrectly anyway. If I had been working and not noticed until Friday evening, I probably would have disallowed the entire entry.
