Confessional EP Church Planting

Church planting is hard work. Here are a few of my observations of what you can expect at least here in America.
1. Americans are infected with self love and self esteem and think they know everything.
2. Therefore, they are often not teachable.

The last four people to leave our group had the following in common (despite growing up in a reformed home and church).
1. They saw themselves as the smartest people in the group.
2. The had never read the entire Bible or Confession of Faith.

Conclusion
Look for lost people and share the gospel or look for humble teachable people with no real theological background where you can try to lay a good foundation.

I am involved in an EP work right now that's comprised of two families.

Other than the fact that it is 20 or 30 minutes to the nearest Reformed churches, everything else looks stacked against the success of that effort.

If the problem repeats itself that many times, perhaps you all should ask whether the problem is the type folks you are attracting, or how the material is being presented to them. Always blaming the other guy isn't likely to resolve the problem .

You could be right.
