Friends,

One of the great forces of downgrade in American Presbyterianism has been the erosion of the Church's adherence to her constitutional documents and maneuvers to change the very constitution of the church which the officers had previously sworn to uphold.

Hence, I have made a webpage on the principles of Constitutionalism (being those principles inherent in any binding commitment to a constitution), with some of the best resources in Church history on the topic.

There is an introduction on the page to the topic. The resources focus on Scottish writers from the 1700's-1800's, especially in the Free Church of Scotland, wherein the principles of Constitutionalism came to full expression.

I hope it is a benefit to you. Affirming and guarding a Scriptural constitution, such as the Westminster Standards, can only prove to be of great health to the Church.
