Daniel 2 v1 Was this a one off or is this a description of the second year?

I would be very interested in knowing how the Hebrew reads here. Are we looking at an isolated incident - one dream, or a descent into paranoia. Did Neb. start to have dreams and continnue to have dreams in the second year? This is how I am inclined to read it. There is a sea change in Neb.'s personality, he becomes preoccupied with the future, he suffers from insomnia and is troubled by dreams - plural.

At some point things come to a head and Neb. summons the Chaldeans.

This is the picture pained (albeit different perspectives) by Rushdoony and Wallace but neither explicitly states that their observations are based on the Hebrew text.

Do you agree?

Can you shed some light on any inferences from the Hebrew?
