De Moor: The One Sense of Scripture, Simple and Composite

As over against ancient allegorizing, and medieval four-fold sense, Protestants asserted the Single Sense of Scripture. However, they contended that the Single Sense could be either Simple or Composite (allowing for Typological interpretation).

De Moor's definitions, summarizing two centuries of Protestant thought, are critically important.
