Puritan Board Doctor
Guitarist Dicky Betts, one of the two surviving original members of the Allman Brothers Band, is successfully recovering from surgery to stop bleeding in his brain, which was caused when he stumbled and fell while playing with his dog, hitting his head. Betts is 74.

The accident occurred while he was successfully recovering from a mild stroke he experienced in August. Here's hoping he recovers from both of these things and is back on the road soon.

(The other surviving original member of the band is drummer Jaimoe.)

For my money, the Allman Brothers Band, in its prime, was the best blues band in the country. It's album, "Live at Fillmore East" (1971) (now known as "The Fillmore Concerts") is one of the best blues albums ever made and one of the most famous live albums ever recorded.

I agree 100%.
