Digital Detox Changed My Life

I get heat if I don't check emails every hour! (And no, my job doesn't explicitly require it; I'm a teacher. )

I dream about being untethered and off the grid. Oh well.

We had the chance two weeks ago. Went to Middle-of-Nowhere, PA for a vacation. Probably 10 miles from Fort Necessity where the French and Indian war was ignited, and where was fought the one single battle of his military career in which Pres. Washington ever surrendered. Aside from the drunk guy stopping his car in front of our driveway and gesticulating angrily at me through our window, and me wondering how I'd contact the police if this got serious, it was great :)

That's a great place for an unplugged vacation. We vacationed in that area in mid-March and stopped by Fort Necessity one afternoon. (A direct ancestor of mine fought under Washington there. Eventually he moved his family from VA to the Pittsburgh area [then Fort Pitt], where my family's been ever since.) The waterfalls around Ohiopyle are lovely.

Wow, neat connection! The area was beautiful. Nothing like a mountain getaway and not being able to get texts or news. I enjoyed Pittsburgh too, but it feels like a city built in the woods with all the hills and trees.
