How awesome would it be to have a one year Bible reading plan :book2:, along with a summary exposition of each book, along with a workbook to search specific topics out of the Bible while doing your daily devotional, and all from a Puritan perspective? Yes, that would be cool, and is cool, :smug:and Nicholas Byfield has done just that.

Nicholas Byfield (1579–1622). wrote this work entitled, “Directions for the Private Reading of the Scriptures.” Byfield compiled an exquisite outline set to the number of the chapters assigned for reading the Bible every day in order to finish it in one year. He also gives the order and drift of each book of the Bible and methodically sets down key ideas and concepts. Finally, he has an entire section devoted, in a workbook style, to studying the Scriptures on key passages and subjects that will help Christians become aware of crucial points of religion throughout the Bible. The workbook section in the paperback book itself is something you can write in. In the electronic version you can make notes, or transfer these ideas and concepts into a personal journal program, or actual journal. This is an extremely practical work for Christians of all ages to help them fall in love with God’s word.

This work is not a scan or facsimile, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.
