Puritan Board Freshman
handling the "new" debate?

Last night, at a family dinner, our hostess opened a discussion on the “discovery” that is the subject of so much news. She brushes aside Scripture as authoritative – and therefore is as untroubled by this discovery as she is convinced that the Davinci Code was founded on historical and scientific fact.

We are grateful that Matt Slick thought through important points – and used some of his talking points http://www.carm.org/evidence/Jesus_tomb.htm

The talk shows had some firebrands on; Mark Davis, a Dallas radio, host is incensed – in his column – and I think back to a novel __ Skeleton in God's Closet __ by Paul L. Maier__.

How are you faring in discussions with others? One question that I asked of my hostess, and her guests, was “Why do you think it matters that they discovered such a box?” No one seemed to see a connection with the Resurrection and peace with God.

Thanks for posting this. It is an excellent article.

To be honest. I haven't heard anyone making a huge deal out of it so far. I haven't had to deal with this debate yet in conversation.

My position is one of anticipation in waiting for the Lord to bring to nothing the wisdom of this world. Don't panic. For 2000 years the enemy has tried to disparage the Word and every time the Word is publicly vindicated. Glory be to God!

Indeed! Glory to God!

I haven't come across anyone asking me about it yet, but I do know that Todd Friel also put together a nice little list of pithy comebacks (lol) on the Way of the Master website.

The whole thing is so obviously silly, it isn't really worthy of debate and any seriousness at all. It would be like debating the looney tunes who think 9-11 was an inside job and the Jews were in on it. They don't even deserve to be taken serious. All one has to do is look at the claim of having DNA evidence and laugh.

When given the opportunity to discuss Christ, are suggesting laughing at their questions?
