I am currently listening to the Beveridge trans. of Calvin's Institutes. I remember JI Packer saying somewhere that Beveridge makes Calvin sound like a Scotsman. How exactly? Don't get me wrong. I think that is neat.

    Drumroll please.

Depends on how many beverages you have. No need to comment, I'll see my way out. :)

Thank you. I'll go to bed grinning about this. (And it's only lunchtime!)

Only after a certain number of scotch consumed while listening.

Us Scots have rightly been suspicious of "God save our gracious Queen". Especially since one of the original verses reads:
    Lord, grant that Marshal Wade,
    May by thy mighty aid,
    Victory bring.
    May he sedition hush,
    and like a torrent rush,
    Rebellious Scots to crush,
    God save the King.
    :)
