Don't Replace URL Text

When I supply text for a URL, why does it replace it with the title of the page?

If I do: Check out (URL="http://www.domain.com/")this(/URL) awesome site!

It produces: "Check out Here's a really cool page! awesome site!"

Can it be changed so it doesn't replace that text when it's supplied by the user?

btw, ( ) = [ ] in the example above

I believe it is a per user option. Simply uncheck the "Automatically parse links in text"
