Observe, that the faith of interest in our Lord Jesus’ purchase is the most kindly motive to make folks bless and praise Him. Therefore, they say Thou hast redeemed us. There is never a word of praise from them that gets no good of Him, but when interest in His redemption is seen, it affects the heart and open’s the mouth. While [or when] folks weaken their faith of their interest in Christ, they weaken their praise, and the strengthening of folks’ interest makes bold and confident and gives liberty to praise. And among many things that mars praise, this is a main one: folks’ careless fainting in their unbelief or discouragement.
