Eating out on Sundays

Yes, a violation of the 4th commandment. You are causing someone to work, and it is not a work of necessity (such as preparing food for hospital patients).

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: (Exo. 20:12).

See also:

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals (Neh 13:15).

Thanks for bringing it up; I hadn't even thought on this topic. Maybe because I can't afford to eat out -- ever! :D
