I was reading through Ephesians this afternoon and got to 5:4 KJV "Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks"

I checked various translations of this trying to get to what is meant by 'foolish talking' and 'jesting.' NIV reads 'foolish talk' and 'coarse joking' with NASB using 'silly talk' and 'coarse jesting.'

By nature I'm pretty affable, jovial and prone to joking around. Jokes must of course be to the God's glory like anything else. I've wondered if I'm crossing the line in my speech way more than should be expected of a believer. Does this verse warn of joking about sexual morality, joking about sex at all or what? Any thoughts?

That is how I've taken it, but I am a novice, so don't take my word for it.
